The Registered Nurse is responsible for registering patients into the Cardiac Rehab program, insurance verification and implementing the cardiac exercise regimen and education classes. The Registered Nurse will monitor telemetry for abnormal ECG rhythms during exercise sessions and ongoing patient assessment. The Registered Nurse will assist the CR supervisor in all areas. The CR nurse will monitor the cardiac exercise sessions. They will also cross train into Pulmonary Rehab and be a member of the multidiscipline team. Must have the ability to define problems and suggest/implement solutions. Must have advanced communication skills as well as professional demeanor toward patients, families, visitors, physicians and co-workers. Must have the ability to initiate emergency measures within the guidelines set forth by facility standards of care/practice. QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associates degree in nursing. BSN preferred. Must be proficient in ECG recognition and arrhythmia interpretation. Possess ability to speak professionally with all levels of personnel. Able to stay directed under pressure. Experience: One to three years in Cardiac Rehab nursing and/or ICU nursing preferred. Basic EKG class or within six months of employment. Licenses/Certificates: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in state of Texas or compact license; Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BCLS within one week of hire date. ACLS at time of hire or within 90 days. PALS/ENPC at time of hire or within 90 days.
