Registered Nurse Supervisor RN Inpatient Rehab Full Time Days 7A-7P
RN Supervisor performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice with an emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Rehabilitation Service Line. This position determines the predictable and unpredictable health status and needs of patients and designated family members through interpretation of health data and collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team. The supervisor provides oversight for all patients on the unit, and lends support and expertise to staff on the unit. The supervisor continually assesses and assigns patient care, and assists with all tactics designed to meet the unit and hospital strategic goals included but not limited to: care experience, employee engagement, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients appropriate to ages of patients served. Provides direct patient care as needed. Creates an environment and culture that enables Rehabilitation Services to fulfill the mission of the hospital and meets or exceed its goals. Facilitates interdepartmental performance-improvement/customer satisfaction activities. Responsible for nurse leader rounding, bedside shift report and safety rounding validations, and service recovery. Shares employee rounding responsibility with manager/director as needed. Participates in all interviewing and training of new staff members. Uses STAR coaching model in consultation with unit leadership. Manages the resources of Rehabilitation Services in an ethical, viable manner. Manages payroll, scheduling, and ordering supplies in a timely manner. Actively encourages the integration of rehabilitation services into the continuum of care of the Hospital and community. Ensure CARE Tool competency of staff. Facilitates a secure and infection/hazard-free environment. Demonstrates high ethical standards in customer service through all interactions with the patients, families, co-workers, staff other hospital departments, physician, community and all others. Creates a high quality, professional clinical environment to facilitate the necessary recruitment and retention of appropriate numbers of qualified staff. Shared responsibility with department leadership for the timely assessment of competencies and performance of all staff. Facilitates ongoing educational opportunities for the staff, as well as patients, professional associates, physician and the community. Acts as an advocate for Rehabilitation Services to the Hospital and the community. Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform assigned duties.

- Associate’s degree required. Current State of Texas RN license or compact state license required. BSN/MSN preferred.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
- CRNN preferred.
- Previous Inpatient Rehabilitation experience preferred. Previous experience as a charge nurse preferred.
