Attention all Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses
South Nassau Communities Hospital's Main Operating Room consists of 14 O.R. Suites. The Operating Room provides care to patients within the following clinical specialties: Orthopedics, Podiatry, Thoracic, Pulmonary, Vascular, Gastrointestinal, Urological, Gynecological, Uro-Gynecology, Ophthalmic, Ear/ Nose/ Throat, Neurosurgical, Plastic Surgery, Trauma, Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery, Organ Donation, General Surgery, Robotic Assisted Surgery and Pain Management.
Position Requirements: Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (Baccalaureate Degree in nursing preferred). Current NYS Registered Nurse License and AHA BLS Certification with previous Operating Room/Surgical Experience. CNOR Certification preferred. Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate working knowledge of Operating Room Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMR).
Position Responsibilities: The professional registered nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for the nursing care provided to patients. Consideration is given to the patient's stage of development according to the life cycle. The scope of practice includes diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being.
