Systemically applies substantial specialized knowledge and skill derived from the biological and behavioral sciences to the care, treatment, counsel and health teaching of individuals who are experiencing changes in the normal health processes, or who require assistance in the maintenance of health and the prevention or management of illness, injury, or disability. Functions within the limitations of the State Nurse Practice Act, Central Michigan University, Health Services, and the department's nursing services policies and procedures. Duties primarily involve health care services for university students, faculty, staff and dependents. Utilizes evidenced base practice.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current license with the State of Michigan Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN), or license eligibility.
Two years work experience as a Registered Nurse.
Demonstrated skills in patient assessment.
Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to handling multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to rapidly changing demands of the workplace.
Demonstrated ability to effectively apply the nursing process to assessing patients, planning and implementing care measures, evaluating outcomes and addressing change in an appropriate and timely manner.
