Nursing Professional Development Specialist
Position Responsibilities: The Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for developing, implementing and leading evidence-based, quality educational programs and activities which promote individual development and competency among nursing department personnel. The NPDS possesses advanced skills, proficiency and knowledge that foster an ability to manage and conduct complex educational programs, to consult with interdisciplinary members of the health care team for educational initiatives, to provide academic and professional development advisement and to take an active role in research and related activities. Working collaboratively as a role model and mentor to all PCS staff, the NPDS is cognizant of and upholds the mission, vision, philosophy, goals and standards of the organization and quality management of nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility.
Position Requirements: Masters of Nursing Required, CNS or DNP preferred. NYS Registered Nurse, AHA BLS, One year experience as a Nursing Staff Educator preferred. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly developed leadership, public relations, teambuiliding, problem solving, decision making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities. Computer proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher)
