Position Requirements: Baccalaureate degree in nursing. Master's Degree from an accredited university program as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Recent clinical experiences relevant to area of practice. Demonstrates competency in specialty area. Licensed and currently registered or otherwise duly authorized to practice as a professional nurse in New York State BLS, AED and ACLS course is required. Current Ostomy Certification required. Position Responsibilities: The Clinical Nurse Specialist is a professional nurse, who, as a result of graduate education and in-depth clinical experience, possesses the advanced knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide expert nursing care in the area of specialization. The Clinical Nurse Specialist implements change through the major role function of clinical practice, education, consultation and research, and practices in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards of care of the Patient Care Services Division of the Hospital. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is self-directed and able to function autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. WOCN - Ostomy Nurse. Clinical nurse would be a resource for pre-surgical marking and follow-up of these patients. |
