RN, Perioperative, Ophthalmology Outpatient

Position Description

The perioperative nurse oversees and manages the nursing care for patients before and after surgery.
The perioperative nurse works closely with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure safe and appropriate care for each patient.
Highly skilled to work in both the PreOp and PACU phases of care, our nurses’ work in accordance to recommended ASPAN standards.
The nursing team is complimented by two technicians.

Position Requirements
Required:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period.
Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Operating Room: Prior Operating Room experience or completion of a course in Operating Room nursing.
Peri-Operative Unit: Prior pre-operative, post-operative, ICU experience, or completion of a course in Peri-Anesthesia Care nursing program. Current ACLS Certification required.
