The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region’s healthcare hub, serving Southeast Idaho, Western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana.  EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital  and the region’s only Primary Stroke Center.

Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program.  Our Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting. The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship. 

 

As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you'll need to become the highest caliber nurse.  You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities. 

 

During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training and exercises. Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows. Our StaRN program begins on February 8, 2021

 

Program Schedule:

 

First 5 weeks

  • Monday-Friday, typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with intermittent home study days.  Must be able to attend all days.
  • Preceptorship – 5 weeks

  •  3 - 12 hours shifts, rotating shifts
  • This position requires a two year, full time commitment.  The first year is a commitment to the unit you are hired to at EIRMC.  The second year is eligible to transfer to another unit at EIRMC, or any of our other 185 HCA hospitals around the country.

    Qualifications

    Required Job Qualifications include:

  • Current Licensure as an RN in Idaho within four weeks of starting the program
  • Applicants may apply for the program prior to passing the NCLEX exam
