West Valley Emergency Center provides world-class medical care to the people of West Valley City and the surrounding communities in a fully equipped, freestanding facility. Through advanced triage processes and cutting-edge technology, we will reduce wait times and offer stellar employee experiences. 

 

Experienced board certified emergency room physicians, nurses and support teams from St. Mark’s Hospital staff the ER 24/7.  The medical team utilizes an advanced triage process to reduce patient wait times for you and your family. Patients also benefit from a wide range of prompt, top-quality emergency medical services, including onsite diagnostics, and lab services.  64–Slice Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner Digital Ultrasound Diagnostic Imaging and walk-in X-ray availability.

 

West Valley ER features 10 treatment rooms, with one room specifically designated for trauma and one room set apart for behavioral health needs.

Position Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Free Standing Emergency Room, under the general direction of the Director of Emergency Services, independently provides holistic, individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the unit. Demonstrates clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care. Independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills. Contributes to St. Mark’s Hospital Department of Nursing and the nursing profession in a positive manner.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required), (BSN preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
  • One (1) year experience in an acute care emergency room setting (required).
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Utah RN License in this state (required) or RN compact license from participating compact states.  
  • Maintains current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (ACLS) and Certification certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification or ENPC for pediatric care and TNCC or other approved trauma course within 12 months of hire.
