Direct Report to the Lead Advance Practice Provider.
Responsibilities include interview and assessment of patients' schedules for stress testing. Perform and be responsible for treadmill and pharmacological stress testing according to departmental policy. Preliminary interpretation and report of rest and stress EKGs. Ensures that delivery of all patient care is of the highest standard and meets or exceeds the expectations of the MHMG values.
Together with the covering physician assess patients before stress tests, decides on adequate informed consent and appropriate procedures to follow, protocols to use, and special precautions if needed.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or other CoAES accredited degree programs required.
- License/Certifications: Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM CEP certification), Advanced Cardiac Life Support required (ACLS) within 3 months of hired date. BLS certification required. A minimum of 200 supervised tests to be performed under the immediate direction of a current nurse practitioner or physician assistant prior to performing stress test unaccompanied.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical or exercise physiology related experience, training and/or education.
- Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills required
- Required to have strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide variety of staff, patients, and colleagues.
- Required to have a high level of proficiency in the delivery of clinical services across multiple populations and a comprehensive understanding of all policies and procedures.
- Computer skills necessary with an emphasis on electronic medical record navigation
