    1. The goal of this module is to provide urology nurses with an overview of pediatric urological anomalies, review embryology of the urinary system and discuss some common pediatric neoplasms of the urinary tract. On completion of the module, the learner will be able to:
      Describe the basic embryology of testicular descent, classification and treatment of cryptorchidism
      Review the embryology of hypospadias development
      Discuss the assessment and evaluation of varicoceles in pediatrics as compared to the adult population
      Describe nursing implications and appropriate patient education on hypospadias and cryptorchidism

    1. The goal of this module is to provide urology nurses with information about acute and chronic urinary retention, urge and urinary stress incontinence and overactive bladder. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to:
      Identify the demography, risk factors, and classification of urinary retention and urinary incontinence
      Discuss treatment options, nursing assessment, and plan of care
      Promote patient education on management of incontinence and urinary retention
      Evaluate outcomes

    1. The goal of this module is to provide urology nurses with an overview of obstructive uropathies and review some common traumatic genitourinary (GU) conditions. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to:
      Identify the demography, risk factors, and classification of different types of obstructive uropathies and genitourinary trauma
      Discuss treatment options, nursing assessment, and plan of care
      Promote patient education on management of kidney stones and BPH
      Evaluate for outcomes

  • Urology Nursing: Erectile Dysfunction and Sexual Infertility

    1. The goal of this module is to provide urology nurses with information about erectile dysfunction and infertility issues. This module reviews the physiology of erection and etiology of erectile dysfunction, as well as the physiology and etiology of infertility in males. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to:
      Describe mechanism of erection
      Identify three factors causing erectile dysfunction
      Discuss three common treatment options
      Describe etiology and causes of infertility
      Identify three factors causing infertility
      Discuss three common treatment options

  • Urology Nursing: Genitourinary Cancers

    1. The goal of this module is to provide nurses with an overview of three common cancers of the genitourinary tract, namely adenocarcinoma of the prostate, urothelial carcinoma of the bladder and renal cell carcinoma. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to:
      Identify the demography and risk factors of genitourinary cancers
      Discuss treatment options and recognize potential side effects through nursing assessment and plan of care
      Review patient education on compliance during and after treatment
