Transformational leadership is a continuous improvement model that fosters a positive work environment. Transformational leadership is critical during stressful circumstances like those in today’s healthcare organizations. In fact, transformational leadership has continued to be a key component of the Magnet Recognition Program since 2008. Although not every organization will achieve Magnet status, nurses at all organizations can learn basic ideologies of transformational leadership. This course explains what transformational leadership is, why it is a vital part of nursing organizations, and how it can increase work satisfaction among nurses and improve patient care.
