Goal and Learning Outcomes
Female deaths from cardiovascular disease are greater than the combination of cancer, chronic lower respiratory diseases and Alzheimer's disease combined. Nurses can lead the way to better heart health for all women by consistently delivering accurate, timely and easily understood information about heart disease at every healthcare encounter and whenever possible to family, friends and the community at large. Stroke also affects many people's lives in many ways. To improve the outcomes of patients, nurses should understand the management of patients with stroke, including pathophysiology, treatment options, potential complications, and rehabilitation after a stroke. This bundle will cover these areas, as well the key components of diabetes management including medical nutrition therapy/meal planning, blood glucose monitoring, medication when indicated, physical activity/exercise, alcohol consumption within recommended limits and stress management.

- 2. A Healthcare Provider’s Guide to Diabetes
