Goals and Learning Outcomes
Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile or C. diff) is a major cause of healthcare-acquired diarrhea. It often occurs when an individual has been taking antibiotics. This course discusses C. difficile, its associated risk factors, and how to control and prevent the spread of the disease. Without the use of effective infection prevention and control measures, C. difficile spreads easily in healthcare settings. Healthcare professionals play a vital role in preventing the transmission of this pathogen to patients.
