This course provides nursing professionals with an overview of pediatric pain management in the home setting.Goals and Learning Outcomes
Children's health outcomes and quality of life are adversely affected without proper recognition and pain management. In this course, pain assessment strategies will be discussed for children of different ages and stages of development. Additionally, it presents the management of acute and chronic pain.
The goal of this course is to familiarize nurses with identifying and treating pain in the home health pediatric population.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of pain in children.
- Identify pain assessment tools in children of different ages and developmental levels.
- Recall nonpharmacologic, pharmacologic, and adjuvant treatment options for pain in children.
