Overview
This course aims to educate nurses in the acute care setting on patient rounding for sustainability, and quality agencies that focus on patient rounding.Goals and Learning Outcomes
Purposeful hourly rounding is a systematic, evidence-based process driven by nurses and designed to anticipate the needs of hospital patients (Kelley, 2017). Various types of patient rounding promote safety and increase patient satisfaction. Nurses’ responsiveness to patients’ needs is critical in preventing adverse outcomes. However, challenges in our current healthcare systems, such as short staffing, increased workload, and acuity levels, make implementing and sustaining patient rounding difficult.
This course aims to educate nurses in the acute care setting on purposeful patient rounding, the benefits and strategies for sustainability, and quality agencies that focus on patient rounding and safety.
- Recall patient rounding strategies, the benefits, and quality agencies that focus on safety.
