Healthcare providers play a key role in identifying and managing patients affected by overweight and obesity. A critical aspect of effective care is understanding a patient's body fat distribution and its implications for obesity-related comorbidities.
This course will explore the different types of body fat, their distribution patterns, and methods for assessing body fat in patients. It will also address common obesity-related comorbidities and evidence-based therapies aimed at reducing the risk of chronic diseases.
The goal of this course is to educate the healthcare team on patient health and body shapes.
- Recognize the different types of body fat, its distribution patterns, adipokines, and techniques for assessing body fat in patients.
- Recall health risks associated with obesity.
- Identify appropriate therapies for reducing body fat and the risk of disease.
