Overview
The goal is to inform nurses and radiologic technologists regarding the incidence, pathophysiology, identification, and treatment of pancreatic cancer.Goals and Learning Outcomes
Pancreatic cancer remains the third leading cause of death in the U.S. It is on the rise to becoming the second leading cause by 2030. Pancreatic cancer remains difficult to diagnose and treat because no clear early warning signs and symptoms exist. Furthermore, many symptoms reported are vague and can be attributed to other, benign causes. Healthcare professionals across disciplines need to know about pancreatic cancer, because patients may present with it in a variety of settings.
The goal of this course is to inform nurses and radiologic technologists in the acute care setting regarding the incidence, pathophysiology, identification, and treatment of pancreatic cancer.
This course has a maximum of 3 exam attempts.
- Name three signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer
- Compare and contrast two treatment options for pancreatic cancer
- Discuss two palliative care interventions for pancreatic cancer
- Name at least three signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer.
- Define at least two treatment options for pancreatic cancer.
- Identify at least two palliative care interventions for pancreatic cancer.
