Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this course is to educate clinicians in acute care facilities with tools to aid in the care of patients with OCD. After taking this course, you should be able to:
  • Recognize the clinical features of OCD.
  • Relate incidence and genetic factors to the risk of acquiring OCD.
  • Identify assistive tools to diagnose OCD, as well as barriers to diagnosis.
  • Describe pharmacological management of OCD, including adverse effects from medications.
  • Identify nonpharmacological therapeutic treatment options and interventions for patients with OCD.
  • Summarize the roles of clinicians and support persons in the management of OCD.
