Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this educational program is to provide dietitians, dietetic technicians and nurses in all care settings with knowledge of the nutrient effects on gene expression in adulthood and the types of nutrigenomic products and services commercially available. After taking this course, you should be able to:
 
  • Define nutrigenomics and identify how nutrients are involved in regulating gene expression in adulthood.
  • Explain the correlation between gene-nutrient interactions and susceptibility to disease.
  • Identify the different types of nutrigenomic products and services available to consumers.
