The goal of this course is to educate nurses in all healthcare settings about the nurse practice act.Goals and Learning Outcomes
Nurse practice acts help protect the well-being and safety of the public by implementing minimum standards for nursing licensure and practice in a state. It is vital to enhance knowledge of nurse practice acts and how they define professional practice and nurses’ rights and responsibilities. The goal of this course is to educate nurses in all healthcare settings about the nurse practice act.
- List four provisions included in most nurse practice acts
- Identify the types of violations included and the rights afforded the nurse licensee in most nurse practice acts
- Analyze how current issues of state nurse practice acts affect the nurse licensee
- Recall the basic principles of the nurse practice act.
