Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this course is to provide nurses in acute care settings with an overview of myelodysplastic syndromes including treatment and nursing care.
After taking this course, you should be able to:
  • Identify at least three carcinogens related to increased risk for myelodysplastic syndromes.  
  • List two prognostic scoring systems for myelodysplastic syndromes.
  • Describe how treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes is related to estimates of prognosis and performance status.
  • Discuss at least three broad nursing care interventions for myelodysplastic syndromes.
