Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this course is to equip nursing and pharmacy professionals with knowledge of the most recent clinical guidelines on the management of hyperthyroidism. After taking this course, you should be able to:
  • Describe the anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and etiology of hyperthyroidism.
  • Identify risk factors, and clinical signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism and thyroid storm.
  • Identify diagnostic tests and typical findings for patients with suspected hyperthyroidism.
  • Describe treatments of hyperthyroidism.
