Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this course is to provide nurses, physicians, and radiology technologists with information to increase awareness of and introduce healthcare providers to emerging modalities and therapeutic options available for treatment of lymphedema and alike diseases, such as lipedema and lipo-lymphedema. After taking this course, you should be able to:
 
  • Recognize critical anatomical and clinical elements of lymphedema.
  • Discuss at least three treatment options used in managing lymphedema.
  • Describe at least three potential cutaneous complications of lymphedema.
  • Formulate an effective interprofessional management plan of lymphedema and wounds associated with it.
