Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this webinar is to improve the RN’s knowledge of best practices related to pain assessment, treatment planning, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction with the way pain is managed. Upon completion, participants will be able to:
  • Explain National standards and policies related to pain
  • Describe Pain Assessment Strategies based on patient’s age and ability to understand/use tools
  • Discuss the principles of safe, effective use of pain relievers.
  • Identify at least three non-drug pain relief options that can be used in current clinical setting.
  • Modify treatment plans in patients with complex needs.
  • Identify three process/outcome measures used to determine the quality of pain management.
