Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this continuing education program is to provide healthcare professionals with information on creating a clean, therapeutic, and healing environment for patients in the acute care setting. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Identify patient and family areas impacting perceptions and ratings on the hospital consumer assessment of healthcare providers and systems (HCAHPS) survey questions related to a clean environment
  • Identify successful strategies to create a therapeutic environment of care through a clean environment
  • Discuss successful strategies to create a therapeutic environment of care through minimizing noise at night
