Overview
This course provides healthcare professionals with information about electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) interpretation of ventricular and paced rhythms. This includes pulseless arrhythmias such as asystole and pulseless electrical activity (PEA). A brief review of basic ECG interpretation principles as well as basic information on pacemaker function is also provided.

The goal of this course is to inform healthcare professionals on accurate interpretation of ventricular and paced rhythms.
After taking this course, you should be able to:
  • Recall foundational principles of ECG interpretation and how pacemakers function.
  • Identify various ventricular rhythms on the ECG waveform as well as rhythms associated with the lack of ventricular activity such as asystole and pulseless electrical activity.
  • Recognize different types of paced rhythms on the ECG waveform as well as how pacemaker malfunctions appear on the ECG.
