Please Note: The Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential has changed to Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). The exam content outline has NOT changed. The content of this review will prepare you for the current certification exam.
With over 1,600,000 new cases of diabetes diagnosed every year, healthcare challenges associated with this chronic disease require competent, knowledgeable healthcare professionals who can provide patients with the current treatment strategies:
- Types of diabetes
- Monitoring blood sugar levels
- Techniques for safe medication use

- Review qualifications for obtaining diabetes educator certification.
This blended learning series will prepare eligible diabetes educators with the tools and information to take the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE)* exam. Complete this self-paced series to earn 26.5 contact hours (nurses)/26.5 CPEUs (dietitians).
*CBDCE is the administrator of the Certified Diabetes Educator program. CBDCE has not endorsed this program. There is no partnership between this program and the CBDCE.
