The course provides a detailed overview of screening guidelines for average- and high-risk patients. Additionally, the course covers essential communication strategies, treatment options, side effect management, and survivorship care planning, which are also discussed to ensure comprehensive patient education and support.
- Identify the risk factors, signs, and symptoms of colorectal cancer, and explain their role in early detection, diagnosis, and patient care.
- Recall U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) screening guidelines, compare the advantages and limitations of screening options, and outline treatment strategies for colorectal cancer.
- Describe strategies to educate patients about colorectal cancer risks, the importance of screening, treatment options, and managing treatment-related side effects while addressing barriers to care.
