Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this course is to provide nurses in hospice and palliative care with knowledge of life-limiting conditions and symptom management.

This course is not affiliated with the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association or the Hospice & Palliative Credentialing Center.

After taking this course, you should be able to:
  • Recognize the role and challenges of palliative care in the trajectories of serious, noncancer illnesses.
  • Describe signs and symptoms of advanced neurological, cardiovascular, and pulmonary conditions, as well as available treatments throughout the illness trajectories.
  • Identify common palliative interventions for neurological, cardiovascular, and respiratory symptoms.
