Goal and Learning Outcomes

The goal of this course is to provide nurses with information on home health nursing and the nurse’s role within it. After taking this course, you should be able to:
  • Compare and contrast the opportunities, rewards, and challenges found in home health nursing.
  • Identify the different types of home health agencies and the types of roles and positions found in them.
  • Describe regulations and policies that affect nurses working for Medicare-certified home health agencies which provide skilled intermittent care.  
  • Explain the skills nurses need to be successful in home health nursing.
  • Evaluate if home health nursing is a good choice for you.
