This course offers a comprehensive overview of managing stroke during the critical phase, from stabilizing the patient to hospital discharge. It covers the two main types of strokes, ischemic and hemorrhagic, and their respective treatments. This course also focuses on the outcomes of stroke and how nurse management can improve outcomes and prevent complications from stroke. 


After taking this course, you should be able to:

  • Identify signs, symptoms, and complications of acute stroke.
  • Apply best practices for the management of stroke in the acute phase.
  • Recall factors that influence stroke outcome and the risk for complications.
