If the gym isn’t for you, your schedule or your budget, online workout memberships might be the way to go.
Barre3 is one of my favorites. It offers a fun combination of barre, yoga and pilates workouts. The workouts require very little to no equipment and range in time from 10 to 60 minutes. A lot of attention is given to functional movement, lengthening and alignment, and modifying to your ability level. Barre3 also offers nutritional advice and healthy recipes. Subscription is $15 per month.
Fitness Blender is run by a husband and wife personal training and nutrition team. It’s a unique model with high-quality workout videos that are free. Yep. Free. They rely on advertising and donations for revenue, making their fitness and nutrition advice accessible to everyone. You can find a variety of workouts and programs here, including high-intensity interval training (HIIT), yoga and pilates, and strengthening. Definitely one to check out. Subscription is free.
Daily burn offers a wide variety of workouts, from dance aerobics (try their Bollywood dance workout) to high-intensity workouts to yoga. Available online or on your TV through a streaming device. Subscription is $14.95 per month, and they offer a 30-day trial.
On Fitness Glo, you can filter workouts by style, teacher, equipment and time. Workouts range from five to 30 minutes. If you’re looking for a little more structure, Fitness Glo offers eight-week workout plans, from beginner to advanced. One of the eight-week plans doesn’t require any equipment at all. Subscription is $12 per month.
If yoga is your thing, Gaiam TV offers a wide library of classes for you (along with pilates). Gaiam TV can be streamed on your computer or through a streaming device on your TV. Membership also includes award-winning films and documentaries on inspiration and spiritual growth topics, as well as guided meditations. Subscription is $8 per month.
