Lenox Hill Hospital appoints new CNO

Irene Macyk, MS, RN, has been named the new CNO and associate executive director, patient care services at Lenox Hill Hospital.
As a member of the senior leadership team, Macyk will be responsible for creating and communicating the vision and direction for nursing at the hospital, according to a news release.
Macyk has been with North Shore-LIJ Health System for more than nine years and most recently served as senior administrative director, patient care services, at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, N.Y. There, she oversaw multiple nursing units and managed strategic hospital initiatives, including patient experience and patient throughput improvement programs. Before joining NSUH, Macyk served in various leadership and clinical transformation roles at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York; Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital and Huntington (N.Y.) Hospital.
In her new role, Macyk will lead the overall clinical and administrative operations and strategy for patient care services. She also will work to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
Macyk received her MS and BSN degrees from Garden City, N.Y.-based Adelphi University, where she is pursuing a PhD with a concentration in healthcare outcomes, according to the release. She maintains memberships in many national organizations, including the American Nurses Association.
