St. Joseph’s Healthcare System recognizes nursing excellence honorees

St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, Paterson, N.J., recently celebrated the healthcare services provided by its nursing team by awarding the 2015 Nursing Excellence Awards, according to a news release.
The winners were Therese Floyd, BSN, RN, CPN, maternal/child division, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Paterson; Annamma Thekkekara, BSN, RN, emergency services, St. Joseph’s Wayne (N.J.) Hospital; Angela Beltre, BSN, RN, perioperative division, St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Paterson; Marie Cadet, BSN, RN, medical/surgical division, SJRMC; and Kimberly Russo, BSN, CMSRN, FN-CSA, ED/critical care division, SJRMC.
Maria Brennan, DNP, RN, CPHQ, the CNO of St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, and vice president, patient care services, honored the winners along with Kevin Slavin, president and CEO of SJHS.
St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center recognized 33 exemplary nurses from five divisions as award nominees.
Three of the nurses hold master’s degrees, 13 are nationally certified, and 100% hold BSNs, according to the release. The nominees were narrowed to five recipients.
