Brooklyn’s Interfaith Medical Center names nurse leader to CNO post

Prissana Alston, MSN, EdD, RN, NEA-BC, a nurse leader with more than three decades of experience, has been named senior vice president and CNO at Interfaith Medical Center.
Alston will be responsible for patient care services and practice policy, and tasked with building relationships and enhancing overall patient experience in regard to quality, safety and practice, according to a news release.
“Dr. Alston is a transformational leader with a proven ability to implement complex programs, manage multiple projects and build relationships with professional staff and the community,” Steven Korf, hospital president and CEO, said in the release. “Her experience in executing quality improvement initiatives will help Interfaith maintain the highest standards and provide the best possible care for our patients.”
Alston has served as administrator on duty for Harlem Hospital. She also was assistant vice president, patient care services at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center; director of nursing at Mercy Medical Center, Rockville Center, N.Y.; deputy director at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn; and vice president of nursing at Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Briarwood, N.Y., and at New York Hospital Queens, where she also served as director of patient care services.
