Tanya Allen, RN, director of health services at Roland Park Place in Baltimore, was selected by Baltimore magazine for its inaugural Excellence in Nursing Top Nurses 2015 list.
Allen was one of 50 Baltimore nurses saluted in the May issue for “going beyond the call of duty” as a registered nurse at Roland Park Place, according to a news release. She was chosen following a survey of hundreds of nominees over a nine-month selection period.
Roland Park Place is Baltimore’s only nonprofit continuing care retirement community. As director of health services, Allen oversees the operations of the Roland Park Place Health Care Center; the on-site ambulatory care center; and all aspects of health and wellness support to Roland Park Place residents. She holds a bachelor of science degree in health systems management from the University of Baltimore and is pursuing her master’s degree in gerontology, according to the release.
To arrive at the results of the survey, Baltimore magazine recruited a panel of RN advisers, appointed by the Maryland Nurses Association and major local hospitals, to review nominations and select the top candidates under 18 different nursing specialties, according to the release.
