Holy Name CNO earns spot on 50 Best Women in Business list

Sheryl Slonim, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, executive vice president of patient care services and CNO at Holy Name Medical Center, Teaneck, N.J., has been named one of New Jersey’s 2015 Best 50 Women in Business by NJBIZ, a business news publication.

The Best 50 Women in Business awards program honors New Jersey’s most dynamic women in business who are making headlines in the field, according to a news release. An independent panel of judges selected the winners based on their dedication to business growth, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement and advocacy for women.

“We are delighted that Sheryl’s dedication to Holy Name and the nursing profession are being recognized statewide with this prestigious honor,” Michael Maron, president and CEO of HNMC, said in the release. “She is a valued member of my executive management team, and her extensive experience, extraordinary talent and nurturing leadership motivate not only the nursing staff, but the entire organization.”

Slonim is responsible for all aspects of management of patient care at Holy Name. Under her leadership, HNMC twice has received Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which recognizes healthcare organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice. The medical center’s intensive care and telemetry units also have received the Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
