U.S. Air Force nurse earns NACNS award

Col. Carole Farley, MSN, RN, CCNS, CCRN, critical care master clinician/clinical nurse specialist with the 96th Medical Group of the U.S. Air Force at the Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. was honored March 5 in San Diego at the 20th anniversary annual meeting of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, according to a news release.

Farley was named Clinical Nurse Specialist of the Year. The award recognizes an NACNS member for outstanding professional achievement in all aspects of CNS practice. It is presented each year to a nurse who demonstrates CNS competencies and exemplary practice in patient care, nursing and healthcare delivery systems.

The NACNS gave awards to six nurses from across the U.S. and also honored the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses for its role in establishing the association 20 years ago, according to the release.
