Healing for female veterans

Thank you so much for your article “A few good women” about female veterans. I am a retired reservist, and I began to get the feeling that the “active component” women have a very different experience while serving. This is probably also true for the women from the reserve component who go to war. I hadn’t thought too much about it until these last long wars. I was mobilized for Desert Storm and was in Washington, D.C., the whole time. Currently, I am part of a Military Ministry in New York.

I see that the VA is using many avenue to treat these women. I came across the website GirlfriendsPray.org and have called a few times. I am somewhat of a prayer warrior. Reading the article made me think that these women, who often don’t want to go out, might gain from this type of experience. I encourage these professionals to look into it. I feel a kinship with these women, and I thought this might help them.
