Six New York hospitals and two in New Jersey were named to Healthgrades America’s 2015 Best Hospitals list, with four earning America’s 50 Best Hospitals distinction.
The Healthgrades honor is based solely on clinical quality outcomes, and it rewards excellence over a multi-year period, according to a news release.
Listed with America’s 50 Best Hospitals are HackensackUMC, Hackensack, N.J., and three New York City facilities: NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center; NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital; and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Making the list of America’s 100 Best Hospitals are Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center; North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, N.Y.; Syosset (N.Y.) Hospital; and Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
America’s 50 Best Hospitals are in the top 1% of hospitals in the nation for providing overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures consistently for at least six consecutive years, while the 100 best are in the top 2% for at least three consecutive years, according to the release.
