Nurse takes over as Good Samaritan Home Care program director

Bon Secours New York Health System has chosen Sharon Brown, MA, BSN, RN, as program director of its collaborative venture with Good Samaritan Home Care, an affiliate of Bon Secours Charity.

Brown has extensive experience in home healthcare operations and previously worked at New York City’s Selfhelp Family Home Care as administrator/director of patient services, according to a news release. Brown also was administrator for CHHA, Health at Home and the PSA Home Health Agency in Stamford, Conn.

Brown has a background in home healthcare, including experience in billing program oversight, operations management, recruitment, payroll, compliance and case coordination, as well as extensive experience in process improvement and strategic planning, according to the release.

Brown will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand home health service delivery in the Bronx and Manhattan, and in Westchester, Rockland and Orange counties. “We are thrilled to welcome Sharon to our team,” Bon Secours New York CEO Carlos Beato said in the release. “Her experience allows her to think on her feet to assess clinical situations and build strong partnerships in the fast-paced home health environment.”

Brown is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. She received an MA in nursing education and a BSN from Pace University, Pleasantville, N.Y.
