Cindy Poirier, BSN, MBA, RN, was named by Oak Hill Hospital, Spring Hill, Fla. as the first director of womens services. Her role focuses on overseeing operations of the hospitals new $13.7 million obstetrics unit. according to a news release.
Construction of the unit is scheduled to begin in April and completion and opening are scheduled for
spring 2016.
Poirier comes to Oak Hill Hospital from Oklahoma University Medical Center, Oklahoma City, where she served as director of womens and newborn services.
She received an MBA for healthcare professionals in 2008 from Chatham University in Pittsburgh and her BSN in 1994 from Seattle University.
Poiriers background includes five years in the U.S. Army and four years in the U.S. Air Force, where her main responsibilities were in womens health, according to the release.
She is a licensed RN in several states and is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, neonatal resuscitation, grief counseling and limited third trimester ultrasounds, according to the release.
