Foundation debuts new pediatric welcome area at Sanzari Children’s Hospital

The Garden of Dreams Foundation unveiled the refurbished Pediatric Outpatient Family Welcome Area in January at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC.

The newly renovated and redecorated space on the third floor of the WFAN Building features murals in the pediatric center patient and family registration area, elevator banks and hallways, and offers a more comfortable and soothing environment for children facing treatment, according to a news release.

“Because of these beautiful renovations, the 17,000 pediatric medical visits that take place in this area of our children’s hospital every year will now be a little more comfortable for our patients and their families,” Jeffrey R. Boscamp, MD, HackensackUMC vice president and chief academic officer and chairman and physician-in-chief of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital, said in the release.

The completion of the $175,000 project, which was put together by renowned artist James Kimack, is the latest example of the Foundation’s commitment to support community projects and is a part of the foundation’s newly launched Giving Program.

The goal is to provide vital resources and aid to the Garden of Dreams partner organizations and their communities in the metropolitan area, through targeted assistance for community improvement, program enhancement and educational opportunities.

Through the years, the Garden of Dreams Foundation has given well over $300,000 to the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital and HackensackUMC Foundation, according to the release.
