Nursing students receive NJLN scholarship awards

Seven student nurses received scholarships from the New Jersey League of Nursing at its 2014 Nurse Recognition Awards Gala Nov. 7 at Pines Manor in Edison, N.J.

The scholarship awards, totaling $5,000, were given to RN students who are continuing their nursing education and to individuals who are pursuing a nursing degree.

Recpients include:

Gaudy Ferrari, Middlesex County College, Edison, N.J., J. Robertson Memorial Scholarship Fund, $500

Garfield Morgan, RN, Thomas Edison State College, Trenton, N.J., NJ League for Nursing Scholarship, $1,000

Kathryn Patterson, RN, Kean University, Union, N.J., Rosie Salisman Memorial Scholarship, $1,000

Kerry Peterson, RN, Felician College, Lodi, N.J., David & Kathleen Gialanella Scholarship, $1,000

Yashmin Naguja, Middlesex, J. Robertson Memorial Scholarship Fund, $500

Moya Stewart-Gray, Middlesex, Dr. Paul Zito Memorial Scholarship, $500

Rachel Urban, Raritan Valley Community College, Branchburg, N.J., NJ League for Nursing Scholarship, $500

The scholarships are part of the NJLN’s ongoing commitment to promote excellence in nursing education. The annual gala was attended by more than 400 nurses, their family and friends in celebration of nursing and to recognize the outstanding nurses who were this year’s award recipients.
