Before the October opening of its new Infusion Center, Nyack (N.Y.) Hospital hosted a dedication ceremony in September.
The new infusion center will help us to serve more individuals, while providing a relaxing environment that promotes privacy for our patients, Matthew Lonberg, MD, of Hematology Oncology Associates of Rockland, a division of Highland Medical, P.C., said in a news release. As treatments can often take several hours, comfort is vital to the patients well-being.
Construction began in June for the $1 million-plus, 6,034-square-foot facility. The center offers 24 semi-private treatment areas, each with its own TV. The center also has a separate entrance with dedicated valet parking.
Patients are seated in recliners for comfort, and adjacent seating is provided for family members or friends. Beverages, meals and light snacks are provided, as is free Wi-Fi.
According to the release, the center offers services for a wide variety of treatments. These include chemotherapy; antibiotic treatment infusions; blood transfusions; rheumatoid arthritis therapy; multiple sclerosis infusions; iron therapy; and hydration therapy.
