Dawlat Matari-Asmar, BSN, RN, a nurse at St. Josephs Wayne (N.J.) Hospital, is one of two healthcare professionals from St. Josephs Healthcare System awarded a $1,000 New Jersey Association of Healthcare Recruiters sponsored scholarship.
Matari-Asmar received the Registered Nurse Pursuing an Advanced Degree in Nursing scholarship. She is enrolled in the MSN/FNP degree program at Rutgers University School of Nursings Newark campus.
Maria Almonte, a registered medical assistant in the Rainbows of Hope cancer screening program at St. Josephs Regional Medical Center, Paterson, earned the Allied Health scholarship. She is pursuing an associates degree in cardiovascular sonography at Eastwick Colleges Ramsey, N.J., campus.
This is the third consecutive year one or more SJHS employees were selected as scholarship recipients, according to a news release.
