THCDS earns Pathway to Excellence designation

The Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery, Plano, Texas, achieved Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, according to a
news release.

The Pathway to Excellence designation identifies the elements of work environments where nurses can flourish. “We are excited to have achieved the Pathway to Excellence designation. Our nurses and the entire staff have worked very hard, and we feel this award reflects the compassionate, patient-centered care our nurses provide every day.” CNO Ellen Baldwin, BSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, said in
the release.

For an organization to earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents foundational quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment — as defined by nurses and supported by research. These initiatives must be present in the facility’s practices, policies and culture.

This designation confirms to the public that nurses working at THCDS know their efforts are supported, according to the release.
