Four Ocean Medical Center nurses receive scholarships

The Barbara Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund committee has awarded nursing scholarships totaling $4,000 to four nurses of the Ocean Medical Center, N. J., staff, according to a news release.

Tamara Brown, Evelyn Ferguson, Regina Foley and Rachel Hollywood were presented four individual $1,000 scholarships during an award ceremony Sept. 19 at the medical center’s main campus in Brick.

The 2014 ceremony marks the fourth time in as many years scholarships have been awarded to Ocean Medical Center team members from the fund.

The Barbara Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund was established on Jan. 15, 2011 to honor the memory of long-time Ocean Medical Center nurse Barbara Forfar and her 44 years of dedication to the nursing profession, according to the release. The scholarship fund provides monetary assistance to qualified nurses and nursing students of the medical center who desire to continue their formal education in the nursing profession. Scholarships are awarded during September of each year to eligible applicants.
