The National Student Nurses Association launched its annual NSNA New Grad Survey to gather input from new graduates employed as RNs and graduates seeking their first RN positions about their job-hunting experiences. The association will use the survey results to determine how best to help nursing students and new graduates develop their nursing careers.
RNs who graduated in winter 2013 or spring or summer 2014 are invited to participate in the confidential survey. The results of the survey help with workforce planning and policy development, and also influence NSNAs programs and member services, according to the NSNA website.
I have spoken 13 times at NSNAs national convention, Robert Hess, PhD, RN, FAAN, executive vice president, education content and credentialing, Gannett Healthcare Group, and a trustee with the Foundation of the NSNA, said. Last year 1,500 students attended my session about how to negotiate the job market. Afterward, I am able to help a few of the new nurses get job interviews, which they usually nail. But I wonder about the others.
The comprehensive survey provides real-time data on finding an entry-level RN job. Participants who would like to enter in a drawing to win a $100 Amazon gift card will need to provide their permanent email addresses at the end of the survey. Five gift cards will be awarded.
